Flexible METS and Metadata Schema

MATRIX aims to further this digital library research by developing the flexibility and utility of METS and the MATRIX metadata schemes to integrate application-based, discipline-aware, and user-generated metadata. MATRIX research currently tests methods of integrating new kinds of metadata that would facilitate the creation of applications, search interfaces, and retrieval tools that make sense to specific groups of users and allow humanities-based information to be integrated into other disciplines. Many of the tools MATRIX has created allow users to create and save their analyses of digital objects, and MATRIX plans to explore the effect and application of user generated metadata.
